Robert Half Senior Property Accountant in Fort Worth, Texas

Description

We are seeking a Senior Property Accountant for our team near Trophy Club, Texas. This is a 3 month contract, working a hybrid schedule of 3 days onsite, 2 remote. The selected candidate will be instrumental in the financial accounting and reporting of our business operations, including tenant ledger management, tax compliance, financial analysis, and compliance with industry regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements

• Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting

• Oversee rent collection processes and ensure timely collection of rent and other property-related income

• Maintain and reconcile accounts receivable ledgers

• Prepare and file property tax returns and other required tax documents, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations

• Maintain accurate tenant ledgers, including rent payments, security deposits, and other charges

• Handle tenant inquiries and disputes related to financial matters

• Conduct financial analysis to evaluate property performance and profitability, providing recommendations for improving financial performance and reducing costs

• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, preparing and submitting required regulatory reports

• Calculate, allocate, and invoice Common Area Maintenance (CAM) charges to tenants based on lease agreements, monitoring and tracking CAM expenses to ensure proper allocation and recovery

• Perform annual CAM reconciliations to compare actual expenses with amounts billed to tenants, adjusting tenant accounts as necessary and communicating any discrepancies or adjustments to tenants.

Requirements

• Proficient in Account Reconciliation

• Experience with Balance Sheet Reconciliation

• Ability to perform Bank Reconciliations

• Solid understanding of General Ledger management

• Proficiency in creating Journal Entries

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• Knowledge of Month End Close processes

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (Master's preferred)

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is preferred

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or related field

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
