Description

Robert Half is currently working with a DFW based organization on a search for a New Senior Tax Manager. The Senior Tax Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of our company's state and federal tax compliance, planning, and reporting. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of both state and corporate tax regulations, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate complex tax matters to diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

State and Federal Tax Compliance

•Prepare and review state and federal tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timely submission in compliance with relevant regulations.

•Manage the filing process for various state and federal tax obligations, including income, sales, and property taxes.

•Stay updated with changes in tax laws and regulations, adjusting compliance strategies as necessary.

State and Federal Tax Planning

•Collaborate with internal teams to identify tax optimization opportunities related to both state and federal taxes, providing recommendations for efficient tax structures.

•Develop strategies to minimize the company's state and federal tax liabilities while adhering to applicable laws.

Audits and Controversies

•Lead state and federal tax audits, coordinating the collection of necessary documentation, preparing responses, and representing the company's interests in discussions with tax authorities.

•Provide expertise in resolving tax controversies and disputes at both state and federal levels, striving for favorable resolutions.

Research and Analysis

•Conduct thorough research on complex state and federal tax issues, interpret tax laws, and analyze their potential impact on the company's financials and operations.

•Utilize research findings to develop informed strategies for state and federal tax planning and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• CPA

• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in corporate tax, including significant exposure to state taxation.

• In-depth knowledge of both state and federal tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.

• Management/Supervisory experience…with the ability to hire and build a new tax team

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to dissect complex tax issues and provide practical solutions.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey tax concepts to diverse audiences.

• Proven experience in managing audits and interacting with state and federal tax authorities.
