Robert Half's client, a leader in the financial services industry is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team on a temp-to-hire basis!

Position Summary:

The Accounts Payable Specialist will play a critical role in the finance department, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments. This position offers the opportunity for permanent employment based on performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts payable, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Invoice Processing: Review, verify, and process invoices in accordance with company policies and procedures.

  • Payment Management: Prepare and execute payment runs, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.

  • Vendor Relations: Maintain positive relationships with vendors, addressing inquiries, and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.

  • Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts payable transactions and monitor accounts to ensure payments are up-to-date.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.

  • Reporting: Assist in month-end closing and provide supporting documentation for audits.

  • Data Management: Maintain accurate and organized records of all AP transactions.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of accounts payable experience, preferably in the financial services industry.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and experience with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).

  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Problem-Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot issues and resolve discrepancies.

  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
