Robert Half Guaranteed Purchase Loan Accountant in Fostoria, Ohio

Description We are seeking a Staff Accountant specializing in loan accounting for our bank located in Fostoria, Ohio. The successful candidate will be responsible for running an amortization review process, reviewing loan documents, and handling cost of funds corrections with our Funding Bank. They will also be expected to maintain the GP manual and assist with other duties within the Accounting/Operations and Loan Operations departments.

Responsibilities:

• Run an amortization review process to identify and clear potential payment and/or past dues

• Work with originators, brokers, and others to review loan documents and ensure payments received and/or interest rates agree with the loan documentation

• Utilize available resources to follow up on and correct any discrepancies in loan documentation

• Book guaranteed purchases, make data corrections, and perform maintenance and process other related transactions in our ACBS loan accounting system

• Review our GP summary and other information for discrepancies and work with others to resolve those discrepancies and subsequently update ACBS to reflect the corrections

• Handle cost of funds (direct note rate) corrections with our Funding Bank

• Provide ongoing quality internal and external customer service

• Work collaboratively with Operations, originators, brokers, our Funding Bank, guarantors, and others

• Follow Association policies and manuals and helps to maintain the GP manual

• As time permits, assist with other duties within the Accounting/Operations and Loan Operations departments

• Complete training programs as organized and/or approved by the institution. Requirements • Possess at least 1 year of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar

• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Experience with bank reconciliations and account reconciliation

• Familiarity with portfolio administration

• Experience in loan administration within the banking industry

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

• Capable of meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks

• Proficiency in the use of accounting software.
