Robert Half Finance has an opportunity for someone with a knack for leading with high standards, positively motivating others, and making critical decisions and have experience taking charge of an accounting department to become a Controller at a reputable company. Our client is a $25 million subsidiary of a large global organization. You might be a good fit for this position if you can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. This position is for candidates who can lead with integrity and reliability and have the ability to manage self and others with urgency, practicality and accountability when providing client services. The full-time Controller position is situated in the Foxboro, Massachusetts area.
Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Respond on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation
Inspect deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations
Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time
Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash
Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible
Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Consolidated Financial Statements experience is a plus
Exposure to Foreign Currency Translation is a plus
Proven knowledge of general ledger
Experience with consolidations
Month end closings experience
Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"
