Description
We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our team located in Framingham, Massachusetts. The role involves strategic financial planning, operational cash flow management, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting procedures and standards. The Sr. Accountant will also play a crucial role in managing business operations, including budgeting and accounting, financial modeling and analysis, and risk management.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee strategic financial planning and manage the organization's revenues, expenses, and finances.
• Ensure compliance with legal and compliance standards for grants, foundations, and major gifts management.
• Administer, monitor, and adapt the organization's strategic financial plan, operating and capital budgets.
• Prepare and present financial and management reports to various committees.
• Champion continuous improvement in financial systems, internal controls, and operations by adopting best practices and effectively utilizing technology.
• Handle all business office operations including budgeting and accounting, financial modeling and analysis, payroll, human resources, risk management, and contract administration.
• Manage operational cash flow, banking, loan and lease agreements, and develop plans to meet anticipated financial requirements.
• Collaborate with auditors to ensure compliance with applicable accounting procedures and standards.
• Oversee and actively participate in the annual audit and tax process.
• Ensure the timely and accurate filing of all required financial reports in accordance with GAAP and in compliance with IRS and other regulatory standards.
• Manage financial aspects of the organization's function, program, and event activities.
• Work with the finance committee to ensure the integrity of all financial matters and proper reporting.
• Participate in various committees as needed, including the Finance Committee, Development Committee, and Facilities Committee.
• Manage institutional risk to ensure the safety of personnel and visitors; implement appropriate safety policies and maintain appropriate levels of insurance.
• Plan campus development and oversee capital projects management and strategic planning.
• Serve on the Management Team and the Emergency Response Team.
• Collaborate with colleagues to identify areas for greater coordination or collaboration to improve the quality or cost-effectiveness of operations, services, and administrative support.
Requirements • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation is required.
• Must possess skills in Balance Sheet Reconciliation.
• Prior experience with Bank Reconciliations is necessary.
• Familiarity with the General Ledger is essential.
• Capability to manage Journal Entries is a prerequisite.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory.
• Experience in Month End Close procedures is required.
