Description
We are seeking a Jr. Accountant in the Freehold, New Jersey area. The Jr. Accountant will be an integral part of our client's team, assisting with the day-to-day financial operations of the company. This role entails ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, reconciliation, and compliance with relevant accounting principles and regulations.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with the processing of invoices, payments, and receipts to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Conduct monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring all transactions align with bank statements.
• Support the maintenance of the general ledger by posting journal entries and verifying the accuracy of all accounts.
• Help prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Aid in the preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Monitor and categorize business expenses, ensuring all receipts and expenditures are properly documented.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing necessary schedules and reconciling discrepancies.
• Support the preparation of documentation and schedules for external audits, ensuring all requested information is provided.
Requirements
• Possesses a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Possesses at least 1-2 years of relevant experience in an accounting role
• Demonstrates proficiency in accounting entries and accounting functions
• Understands basic knowledge of the Real Estate & Property industry
• Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Shows excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Exhibits strong attention to detail and accuracy in work
• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrates ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
• Shows willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and systems
• Has good organizational and time management skills
• Exhibits a high level of professional integrity and confidentiality
