Robert Half Assistant Controller in Fremont, Ohio

Description We are searching for an Assistant Controller to join our team in Fremont, Ohio. The role involves providing financial and administrative support within our organization, overseeing daily operations across various accounting and administrative support functions, and assisting with the development and implementation of support strategy.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and execute daily accounting activities, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of accounting functions.

• Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets.

• Compile and review weekly cash flow forecasts, projecting cash resources and requirements.

• Collaborate with various managers to provide timely and accurate financial information regarding company matters.

• Develop financial plans and analyses including annual profit plans and monthly plan vs. actual analyses.

• Ensure procedures are in place for accurate and timely payroll processing.

• Provide continuous financial and administrative support to the VP of Facilities and Construction Operations.

• Manage the performance of the Accounting Administrator and a select group of accountants, providing necessary motivation and training.

• Assist in the assessment of the performance of administrative personnel and direct their activities.

• Ensure adherence to corporate personnel policies within the chain of command.

• Maintain a staffing plan that provides a workforce adequate to meet the objectives of the area of responsibility.

• Oversee the application of accounting software systems and enterprise resource planning.

• Oversee and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

• Conduct regular auditing and ensure accurate month-end closing of accounts. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role or related field

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is a must

• Advanced knowledge of Accounting Functions and principles

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Previous experience in auditing is required

• Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems

• Ability to manage and oversee Month End Close procedures

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and leadership abilities

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

• Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is a plus.
