Description
Tyler Houk (Practice Director) with Robert Half has partnered with a Construction/ company that is seeking a results-oriented Assistant Controller. As the Assistant Controller, you will oversee the day to day of the accounting staff and send reports to the Controller. This is the Assistant Controller position for you if you are a self-starter with a history of successfully identifying issues and resolving problems. Submit an application today! Your responsibilities
Encourage implementation and certify adherence to accounting policies and procedures
Devise relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like key financial metrics, the monthly flash report, and actual spend against budgets/outlook
Work on other requests when required
Developed preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits
Aid with the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting
Promote to ensure a competent, trained staff through regular assessment, development, and goal setting
Foster accountability and the meeting of deliverables
Draw up numerous procedures, policies, and technical accounting analyses
Backfill for Controller as needed
Discern and establish process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency
Direct the accounting team during the closing process to secure deadlines are met
Deliver regular account reconciliation to completion
Review and establish Ad Hoc financial reports
Requirements
Notable accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred
Extraordinary analytical, quantitative and social skills
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing
5+ years of general ledger accounting experience
Ability to multitask and communicate effectively with individuals of all backgrounds
CPA certification a plus
- Comprehensive knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
Strong technical background in public accounting (GAAP)
Job Cost experience preferred
Financial reporting experience preferred
Month end closings experience
Proficiency in project accounting
