Robert Half Human Resources Assistant in Fresno, California

Description We are seeking a Human Resources Administrator for a contract-to-permanent position in the food industry, located in Fresno, California. In this role, you will greet visitors and job applicants professionally, answer HR department phone inquiries, and review and complete job applications. You will also schedule tests, verify driver's licenses, and arrange interviews. Your responsibilities will include updating reference check documents, coordinating all candidates required to undergo all candidates required to undergo drug screening appointments, and preparing orientation and safety manuals. Additionally, you will update weekly rate sheets in the HR Payroll System, check the attendance line, and verify union employee sick/vacation slips. You will review resumes, screen applications, refer candidates to managers, administer aptitude tests, and match candidates' strengths with job descriptions. Conducting pre-employment reference checks and background searches, tracking probationary period days, and updating managers on seniority status will also be key tasks. The role requires handling confidential situations with good interpersonal skills, performing other duties as assigned by HR or management, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant computer application Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

• Experience in Human Resources administration or related field

• Familiarity with HR Payroll Systems, including data entry and report generation

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization

• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in all tasks

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively

• Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities

• Knowledge of local employment laws and regulations

• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is preferred

• Certification in Human Resources, such as PHR or SHRM-CP, is a plus.
