This Fresno, California area-based position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. In this role, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. To succeed in this role, you will need to be comfortable participating in compliance, interacting with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes. You will be preferred for this role if you have a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.
Your responsibilities in this role
Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting
Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable
Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions
Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management
Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
Manage schedules for monthly payments and capital le
Requirements - 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
ERP system experience
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Proficiency in month end closings
Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of general ledger
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
