Robert Half Software Developer in Fridley, Minnesota

Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a skilled LabVIEW Application Development Consultant in the manufacturing industry. The role is based in Fridley, Minnesota, and will require the successful candidate to provide expert support for our current LabVIEW application base used in our manufacturing processes. The role will also involve modernizing these platforms and training entry level engineers.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing support, maintenance, and troubleshooting for our existing LabVIEW applications

• Champion the modernization effort by analyzing existing LabVIEW applications and exploring opportunities for migration to more sustainable platforms

• Collaborate with both engineering and core technology teams to identify and implement solutions that optimize our automation systems

• Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues to minimize downtime and ensure efficient production

• Maintain clear and concise technical documentation for all automation systems

• Utilize backend development skills to enhance and maintain our software systems

• Apply knowledge in C++, Database, ASP.NET, Microsoft SQL, LabView, Java, and C# - Sharp for software development and problem-solving

• Perform other duties as assigned by the management team. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the software development field, preferably within the manufacturing industry • Proficiency in Backend Development, demonstrating strong technical skills and understanding of software development principles • Expertise in programming languages such as C++, Java, C# Sharp, and ASP.NET • Experience with databases, specifically Microsoft SQL • Knowledge of LabView software for system-design platform and development environment • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve software issues • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with team members and stakeholders • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, demonstrating effective time management skills • Commitment to continuous detail oriented development and staying updated with the latest industry trends and advancements.
