Robert Half Finance & Accounting has partnered with a national manufacturing client that is in need of an Accounting Manager for their corporate headquarters in North Dallas!

This position will be working closely with the Corporate Controller, CFO and plant operations and will be responsible for providing leadership to ensure all accounting department tasks are performed timely and accurately, drive process improvements, implement standards, improve and document internal controls and optimize efficiencies across all areas of accounting, preparing financial statements, inventory control and various ad-hoc projects.

Interested candidates must have a bachelor's degree in accounting, 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally a mix of public accounting and industry experience or has worked for a manufacturing company with annual sales at or above $250 million. CPA or MBA is preferred. Someone needs to enjoy leading, training and mentoring others. Must have exposure to large volumes of inventory and hands experience working with a major ERP system.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise, train, and mentor the accounting team to promote a collaborative and productive work environment.

• Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded in the general ledger in a timely manner.

• Perform and review account reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies promptly.

• Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors during the annual audit, providing necessary documentation and managing timelines.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

• Provide guidance on proper accounting treatment, stay updated on changes to GAAP, and implement new GAAP as required.

• Manage outside service providers to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

• Assist in the development of the annual budget and periodic forecasts, providing analysis and insights to support decision-making.

• Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial records.

• Possession of a University Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is necessary

• A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in accounting or a related field

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Familiarity with BlackLine and Concur software

• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions and Auditing

• Experience with Annual Physical Inventory and MS Great Plains Accounting

• Expertise in Month-end Close Activities and Month-end Journal Entries

• Ability to Analyze Financial Statements and prepare Financial Statement

• Experience in Variance Analysis

• Knowledge of Local Taxes and Multi-state Tax

• Experience in preparing Property Tax Returns

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• A high level of integrity and dependability.
