Description
Robert Half's client is a reputable manufacturing company seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join their finance department. The ideal candidate will contribute to the overall efficient operation of the department, ensuring all financial data is accurate.
Job Description/Responsibilities:
As a Senior Accountant at our organization, you will:
Assist in executing month-end close procedures, including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and account analyses in a timely and accurate manner.
Manage accounts receivable, ensuring all sales-related transactions are recorded appropriately, customer payments are processed and tracked, and reconciliations are performed regularly.
Assist in maintaining the cost accounting system and conduct any necessary analysis to optimize cost transparency and allocation.
Perform variance analysis and prepare cost reports.
Help with budgets and forecast preparation.
Participate in internal and external audits, collaborating with auditors to ensure the process is smooth and efficient.
Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel dashboards.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures, ensuring that all activities are compliant with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA is a plus.
Proven experience as a senior accountant with a minimum of 3 -4 years in accounting/finance. Experience in manufacturing will have an advantage.
Solid knowledge of GAAP and regulations.
Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting, etc.)
Understanding of data analysis and forecasting.
Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel – VLOOKUPS, pivot tables etc)
Experience with ERP systems and accounting software
Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
High level of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Must be a critical thinker, be able prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines
