Robert Half International Accounts Payable Clerk in Gardena, California


Accountemps has a top-notch opportunity for a long-term temporary-to-full-time Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk to join the team at a successful company in the Cosmetics industry. Updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L, processing checks, processing expense reports, resolving A/P issues, and matching, batching, and coding invoices are just a few of the responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Clerk. This is a fantastic role and you will have the opportunity for career growth and advancement within this dynamic department. Located in Gardena, California, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be a long-term temporary-to-full-time opening.

Your responsibilities

  • Validate, record and send checks, including expediting special handling

  • Handle the customer service needs of internal business partners

  • Assist the AP/Finance Department with administrative tasks

  • Complete special projects on an as-needed basis

  • Execute full-cycle A/P

  • Provide support during internal and external audits

  • Carry out daily processes and controls accurately and on time, and ensure compliance with company policies

  • Manage department mail by opening, sorting, and distributing it on a daily basis

  • Organize, register, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents


  • Well-founded grasp of Enter Vendor Invoices

  • Quality experience with Invoice Payment

  • Expertise in Account Coding

  • Practical knowledge of Invoice Coding

  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel

  • Approved Invoices experience

  • Hands-on experience with Quickbooks ProAdvisor

  • Good understanding of month end closings

  • Earlier work involving Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Skills in Quickbooks Online

  • Previous experience working with QuickBooks

  • Prior experience with Microsoft Excel

  • Proven knowledge of Enter Invoices

  • General familiarity with Invoice Approvals

  • Experience with QuickBooks Pro

  • Wide ranging experience with Invoice Processing

  • Comprehension of Quickbooks Premier

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Code Invoices

  • Coding Invoices experience

  • Account reconciliation experience

  • Established communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds

  • 3+ years of experience in an A/P role preferred

  • AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

  • Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
