Description Robert Half is reviewing candidates for an ambitious Controller opening, who is seeking to contribute their skill to a prominent Aerospace company. This leadership role oversees an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, your tasks will include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, managing the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assessing accounting and internal control systems, and guiding departmental staff. Your responsibilities

  • Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners

  • Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

  • Review and revise deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations

  • Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management

  • Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible

  • Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual

  • Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts

  • Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation

  • Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Able to perform additional tasks beyond formal job duties

  • Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll Requirements

  • Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

  • Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  • SOX experience desired

  • Manufacturing experience preferred

  • High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills

  • Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

  • Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required

  • Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

  • Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing

  • Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  • Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
