This full-time position is for a Controller who will work in the Gardena, California region. You might be a good fit for this position if you can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. Major responsibilities

  • Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

  • Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques

  • Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required

  • Analyze deliverables of self and team to confirm they meet client expectations

  • Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible

  • Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners

  • Act on items beyond formal job responsibilities

  • Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

  • Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts

  • Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

  • Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

  • Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  • Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued

  • Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired

  • Demonstrated knowledge of cost accounting

  • Month-end Financial experience

  • Month-end Reports experience required

  • Strong familiarity with Month-end Close Activities

  • Comprehensive knowledge of month end closings

  • Practical knowledge of Manufacturing Cost Accounting

  • Adeptness in standard costs

  • Month-end Journal Entries experience preferred

  • Standard Cost Accounting experience highly preferred

  • General familiarity with Cost Allocation

  • CPA/MBA preferred

  • Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  • High attention to detail
