Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Gardena, California
Description We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team in the aerospace industry, based in Gardena, California. This role will involve maintaining and improving accounting practices, preparing financial reports, and supporting budget and forecast activities.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting
• Improve and maintain accounting practices and procedures
• Prepare the general ledger, including month-end closing and journal entries
• Analyze account variances to determine root cause and provide corrective action analysis
• Handle daily accounts receivable cash postings and cash collections
• Prepare weekly KPI reports for Accounts Receivable
• Manage AP and AR GL postings and account reconciliations
• Compile and analyze financial information for the operation
• Ensure internal and external audits comply with corporate policies and GAAP requirements
• Participate in the annual development of departmental budgets and monthly budget reporting
• Assist the team in identifying and implementing process improvements, cost saving initiatives, and lean manufacturing strategies
• Conduct ad-hoc complex financial analysis as assigned
• Perform quarterly SOX testing.
Skills required include Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP. Requirements • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation
• Experience with Balance Sheet Reconciliation
• Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations
• Expertise in maintaining General Ledger
• Ability to process Journal Entries
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with Month End Close procedures
• Familiarity with NetSuite software
• Knowledge of Oracle software
• Proficiency in SAP software
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Proven experience as a Sr. Accountant in the Aerospace industry
• Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
• Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data
• Professional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
