Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the Aerospace industry. The position is located in Gardena, California. The Sr. Accountant will play a critical role in performing detailed financial and cost analysis, preparing financial statements, and managing general accounting activities.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and validate monthly Gross Profit reports and General Ledger inputs, including various cost components

• Review overtime spending trends and staffing levels

• Support the development of Annual Operating Plans for the business unit

• Prepare financial statements, statistical reports, and make recommendations based on the analysis

• Ensure timely and accurate updates to weekly KPI information in line with corporate goals and guidelines

• Prepare and reconcile monthly reports for various accounting activities including sales, bookings, backlog, fixed assets, and other general ledger accounts

• Manage daily accounting activities related to AR and AP as required

• Maintain customer collection in accordance with payment terms and company objectives

• Reconcile cash daily and monthly to the bank

• Maintain effective controls on inventory/COGS and ensure compliance with Sarbanes – Oxley

• Organize the filing and reference systems pertinent to general accounting activities

Requirements • Demonstrable experience in senior accounting roles, preferably within the Aerospace industry

• Proficient in Month End Close and Month-end Close Activities

• Ability to complete Month-end Financial tasks, including Month-end Journal Entries and preparing Month-end Reports

• Experience in analyzing and preparing various Financial Statements, including Consolidated Financial Statements, Audited Financial Statements, and Monthly Financial Statements

• Skill in Financial Statement Audits and preparation of Annual Audited Financial Statements

• Proficient in Financial Statements Consolidation and Financial Statement Preparation

• Knowledge of Cost - Basis accounting principles

• Experience with Activity Based Costing

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Professional accounting certification, such as CPA, is preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required, a Master's degree is a plus

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
