Robert Half has an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Controller to join a well-respected services company. In this leadership position, you will direct an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will be planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. This permanent position is for a Controller who will work in the Garrettsville, Ohio region.
What you get to do every single day
Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash
Complete tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed
Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month
Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Inspect deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective

Requirements
Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired
Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
Vow to meet business deadlines
Practical knowledge of Balance Sheet Reconciliation
Balance sheets experience highly preferred
Good understanding of Banking Operation
Strong familiarity with KPI Reporting
Comprehension of cash flow management
Variance analysis experience preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of financial statement preparation
Adeptness in Accounts Receivable (AR)
QuickBooks experience desired
Accounts Payable (AP) experience highly desired
Foundational knowledge in strategic planning
Comprehensive knowledge of budget forecasting
Earlier work involving US GAAP
Process Improvement Initiatives experience preferred
Hands-on experience with pension plans
General familiarity with Purchasing Activities
Prior experience with Process Improvement
Previous experience working with Daily Banking
Cash Flow Analysis experience highly valued
Background working with Internal Control
Experience with pension plans
Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus
3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing
Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
