In this role, you will be planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Reviews deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis
Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports
Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed
Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation
Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals Requirements - Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Sound written and verbal communication skills
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
Comprehensive knowledge of construction
Foundational knowledge in CPA
Proficiency in Construction Industry
Expertise in Construction Accounting
CPA or MBA preferred
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required
Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"
Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
