Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Geismar, Louisiana

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity in Geismar, Louisiana for a Sr. Accountant. We are a telecom provider and the role will involve overseeing all accounting operational functions, handling financial data for internal and external financial statements, and steering departmental staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct all accounting operational functions

• Handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements

• Evaluate accounting and internal control systems

• Lead departmental staff to ensure efficient operation of the finance department

• Oversee accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

• Manage month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

• Prepare cash-flow reports, project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash

• Implement timely monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection

• Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners

• Assist in the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis

• Utilize skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, and Viewpoint Vista to accomplish tasks. Requirements • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation

• Experience in Balance Sheet Reconciliation

• Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations

• Expertise in managing General Ledger

• Ability to perform Journal Entries

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Experience in Month End Close processes

• Knowledge of Viewpoint Vista software

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

• Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines

• CPA certification is preferred but not required
