Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Germantown, Tennessee

Description

We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our team based in Germantown, Tennessee. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial records, reconciling bank accounts, and assisting with various financial functions.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the maintenance of the fixed assets, including monthly depreciation

• Manage the recording of transactions and preparation of audit schedules for various grant programs

• Reconcile various bank accounts regularly for accuracy

• Assist with accounts payable functions including monthly credit card payments and expense accruals

• Assist with cash receipts reconciliations and journal entries

• Support with treasury management functions including interest income allocation to City funds and tax and utility lockbox uploads

• Assist with payroll & benefits functions, including weekly payroll journal entries and workers' compensation reconciliation

• Maintain software to manage and record activity for debt, leases, and subscriptions

• Prepare monthly sales tax returns and assist with internal audits

• Process weekly accounts payable

• Assist the finance and budget staff with research and special projects.

Requirements • Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as a Sr. Accountant

• Must possess strong skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations

• Proficiency in maintaining General Ledger and making Journal Entries is necessary

• Candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Excel and have experience with Month End Close procedures

• Familiarity with software systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP is preferred

• Must have the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required

• Professional certification such as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is preferred

• Demonstrable understanding of accounting principles, laws, and regulations is crucial

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are required

• Candidate should be able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently

• Must demonstrate a high level of professional integrity and confidentiality.
