Description
We are seeking an Accounting Manager to join our team in the high tech pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturing company located in Germantown, Wisconsin. This role involves managing accounting functions, ensuring the accurate processing of purchase orders, and overseeing vendor relationships. As the Accounting Manager, you will also be responsible for applying sales and use tax, and ensuring accounting software systems are utilized effectively. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage all accounting functions within the company
• Implement and maintain accounting software systems to ensure efficient operations
• Process and oversee the application of sales and use tax
• Ensure efficient processing and maintenance of purchase orders
• Manage vendor relationships and handle vendor management duties
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable operations
• Manage the general ledger and ensure accurate record keeping
• Conduct month-end close activities in a timely and accurate manner
• Utilize skills and knowledge of discrete manufacturing in accounting processes
• Prepare and submit sales tax returns as required.
Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably in the High Tech - Pharm/Biotech industry
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions
• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Knowledge and experience in managing the General Ledger
• Ability to perform Month-end Close Activities
• Experience in Discrete Manufacturing, preferably in the High Tech - Pharm/Biotech industry
• Understanding of Sales Tax laws and processes
• Experience in preparing and filing Sales Tax Returns
• Experience in managing and processing Purchase Orders
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
• CPA or ACCA qualification will be considered a plus.
