Description We are offering an opportunity for a Purchasing Agent in GETZVILLE, New York. This role entails managing the acquisition of supplies through our automated system, ensuring that the purchasing process is handled efficiently and accurately. It requires a high level of organization and attention to detail, as well as problem-solving skills and a customer-facing approach.
Responsibilities:
• Operate an automated system for managing purchase requisitions
• Monitor the system for any issues or delays in the approval process and take necessary action
• Validate availability and pricing of items before adding to the cart
• Handle purchase order (PO) creation, approval, and distribution
• Liaise with the receiving department to track order delivery
• Address any discrepancies or issues with orders, such as quantity or substitute items
• Maintain communication with departments during the purchase process
• Utilize ERP Solutions such as Sage Intacct to manage purchasing tasks
• Apply problem-solving skills to resolve issues during the purchasing process
• Exhibit strong customer service skills in interactions with internal departments. Requirements • Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of buying processes and principles
• Proficiency in using ERP Solutions, preferably Sage Intacct
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Experience in collecting and analyzing data
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Ability to make prudent buying decisions
• High attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or relevant field.
