Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Ghent, Kentucky

Description We are looking to bring a Sr. Accountant on board in our GHENT, Kentucky office. As a key part of our financial team, this role will be instrumental in overseeing general accounting processes, consolidating and distributing financial statements, and coordinating complex accounting projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee general accounting processes, including multi-currency, property and miscellaneous taxes, and financial statement preparation to meet regulatory and government requirements.

• Prepare, consolidate, and distribute financial statements for all group companies.

• Perform monthly variance analysis on financial results.

• Assist the fixed asset accountant in maintaining the fixed asset and accumulated depreciation ledgers for book and tax purposes.

• Review and assist in posting for the accounts payable staff who are responsible for processing supplier invoices, back-charges, and payments.

• Coordinate complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and other departments.

• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

• Consult with external auditors, internal general counsel and other outside consultants as necessary.

• Review financial accounting entries necessary for accounts payable accruals, amortization, capitalized interest and salaries, and fixed assets placed in-service.

• Review all capital and expense policies and procedures to ensure compliance by accounts payable, fixed asset accounting and other departments as it relates to accounting.

• Assist with the direction and proper expense coding of general ledger entries and accounts payable vouchers. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations

• Expertise in managing General Ledger and Journal Entries

• Solid experience with Microsoft Excel for handling and analyzing data

• Experience in managing Month End Close processes

• Knowledge of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne software

• Possess a Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

• Familiarity with accounting standards and regulations

• Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.
