Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Medical Charge Entry Specialist in Glen Allen, Virginia, within the Healthcare/NHS industry. This role involves meticulous attention to detail, strong customer service skills, and a background in medical office and coding. The chosen candidate will be expected to liaise with physicians' offices, conduct quality assurance work, and handle both inbound and outbound calls. The specialist will also be responsible for reviewing prescriptions and translating that information into the system.
Responsibilities:
• Liaise with physicians' offices to gather necessary information
• Conduct thorough research to fill in any missing information
• Perform quality assurance work to maintain high standards of service
• Handle both inbound and outbound calls professionally and efficiently
• Review prescriptions and accurately translate the information into the system
• Apply knowledge of medical coding in daily tasks
• Use basic medical terminology to communicate effectively with medical professionals
• Utilize electronic medical record systems for data entry and record keeping
• Answer inbound calls promptly and professionally
• Make outbound calls as needed to gather information or follow up on pending issues. Requirements • Proficiency in Medical Coding is required
• Experience with Medical Collections is necessary
• Familiarity with Basic Medical Terminology is expected
• Proficient in using Electronic Medical Record systems
• Ability to work with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) is crucial
• Excellent communication skills for Answering Inbound Calls
• Experience handling both Inbound and Outbound Calls is preferred
