Robert Half HR Payroll Specialist in Glendale, California

Description We are looking for an HR Payroll Specialist to join our team in Glendale, California. As an HR Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for managing payroll and HR systems, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and process payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

• Maintain and update the HR System with employee data, benefits, and other relevant information.

• Respond to payroll-related inquiries and resolve any payroll discrepancies.

• Maintain accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions.

• Review and verify timesheets and work schedules for accuracy.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.

• Coordinate with HR staff to ensure correct employee data.

• Prepare and submit reports on payroll activities.

• Stay updated on new features and enhancements of the HR System.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the HR department. Requirements • Possess expertise in HR Systems and Payroll management.

• Have a strong understanding of payroll processing, including benefits, taxes, and other payroll deductions.

• Proficient in using payroll software and HRIS systems.

• Able to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.

• Excellent problem-solving/judgement skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy.

• Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure.

• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.

• Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated payroll accounting system.

• Ability to prepare and process forms and maintain records.

• Ability to understand and apply current payroll guidelines, policies, and procedures.

• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.

• Proven ability to quickly learn new systems, processes, and technology.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for a demanding and customer-focused working environment.
