Description Robert Half has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a reputable Non-Profit company. Your talents will be used to prepare and consolidate financial statements, analyze and reconcile accounts, analyze cash flow, build budgets and forecasts, prepare audits, and handle internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Candidates will need excellent analytical skills and an ability to keep up in a fast-paced workspace. This Senior Accountant role is located in Golden Valley, Minnesota. How you will make an impact
Uphold company standards when working with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls; while also providing support on special requests when required
Provide assistance in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external
Present analysis on financial results such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.
Assemble monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Coordinate Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Perform monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
Engage in various department-wide initiatives
Dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Provide Balance Sheet account reconciliations Requirements - Excellent communication and organizational skills
Month-end Journal Entries experience required
Deep understanding of Nonprofit Organizations
Foundational knowledge in general ledger
Month end closings experience desired
5+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Ability to meet deadlines
Proficiency with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Detailed and have the ability work independently
Candidate must possess first-rate analytical, quantitative and social skills
Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
Exceptional time management skills preferred
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Experience in SOX control execution/documentation
Experience with ERP systems
