Robert Half Assistant Controller in Goodyear, Arizona

Description

Tommy Zapp with Robert Half is working with a great company to help fill an Assistant Controller opening in Goodyear, Arizona. In this role, you will be expected to assist with the preparation of annual budgets, interim forecasts, and corporate reporting. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with internal and government regulations, as well as corporate financial goals and policies.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and interim forecasts

• Prepare internal monthly and year-end financial statements and analysis

• Monitor and maintain capital expenditures

• Prepare annual insurance and property tax reports

• Coordinate the close process and prepare journal entries

• Ensure accurate account reconciliations and accruals

• Prepare and analyze corporate monthly and quarterly schedules

• Monitor tooling and prototype program expenditures

• Oversee Fixed Asset accounting, including depreciation, asset additions and disposals

• Assist the Controller in implementing regulations, financial policies and procedures

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts

• Prepare monthly reports for Projects, collections, billings, and contracts

• Assist with annual audit preparation

• Participate in the annual budget process

• Perform internal audit of job and contract revenue

• Audit financial transactions and documents

Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Extensive knowledge of Accounting Functions

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Familiarity with Auditing procedures

• Ability to manage Billing Functions effectively

• Understanding of ASC 606 standards

• Experience with WIP - Work In Progress accounting

• Expertise in Fixed Asset Accounting

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Attention to detail and accuracy in work

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

• Commitment to continuous learning and development in the field of accounting.
