Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Grand Blanc, Michigan

Description Play a critical part in a team environment as an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk in a thriving company. This short-term contract / temporary to hire position is offered through Robert Half. The Accounts Payable Clerk will match, batch, and code invoices, resolve A/P issues, process expense reports, update and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L, and process checks. An individual in this position will need a high aptitude for computer software, be mindful of details and a self motivator. This Accounts Payable Clerk role will be located in the Grand Blanc, Michigan area and will be a short-term contract / temporary to hire position.

Major responsibilities

  • Open, sort, and distribute daily department mail

  • Carry out a full-cycle A/P

  • Handle the administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department

  • Carry out daily processes and controls accurately and on time, and ensure compliance with company policies

  • Sort, log, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents

  • Provide internal and external audit assistance as required

  • Provide customer service to internal business partners

  • Perform special projects as assigned

  • Verify, log and mail checks, including expediting special handling Requirements - Proficiency in Account Discrepancies

  • Proven knowledge of account reconciliation

  • Quality experience with Process Weekly Check

  • Wide ranging experience with PeopleSoft ERP

  • Well-founded grasp of Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Account Adjustments experience desired

  • Account analysis experience highly desired

  • General familiarity with Prepare Checks

  • Expertise in account analysis

  • Practical knowledge of Process Check Requests

  • Account Adjustments experience preferred

  • Articulate customer service and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with those in the technical and financial backgrounds

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

  • Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

  • Prior experience in an A/P role preferred
