Robert Half Construction Full Charge Bookkeeper in Grand Island, New York

Description

Jenny Bour with Robert Half is working with an exciting company in the construction industry that is hiring a Full Charge Bookkeeper to their team! As a Full Charge Bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in managing their financial operations, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations. As a Full Charge Bookkeeper in the Construction industry, some of your responsibilities will include processing AIA payment applications, contract review and tracking, payroll processing, and filing sales and use tax. This Full Charge Bookkeeper position is a permanent opportunity in the Grand Island, NY area!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the company’s financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.

  • Handle AIA payments and billing processes, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing and collection.

  • Review contracts to ensure compliance with financial terms and conditions.

  • Oversee and process prevailing wage and certified payroll reports.

  • Prepare and file sales and use tax returns in accordance with state and local regulations.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and reports.

  • Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow.

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and budgets.

  • Coordinate with external auditors during audits.

  • Utilize ADP for payroll processing and QuickBooks for financial management.

  • Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure financial accuracy and project profitability.

  • Stay current with industry regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency.

    Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper in the construction industry is preferred.

  • Proficiency in contract review, prevailing wage, and certified payroll.

  • Understanding of sales and use tax filing requirements.

  • Experience with ADP payroll processing and QuickBooks accounting software is a plus.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical mindset.

  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not required.
