Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Grand Rapids, Michigan
Description We are in search of an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan. In this role, you will be overseeing all accounting functions, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements, and managing tax planning.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage all aspects of accounting including Accounts Payable and Receivable
• Establish and enforce internal controls, guidelines and processes for accounting transactions
• Prepare and present financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements
• Manage tax planning throughout the fiscal year and ensure timely filing of corporate tax forms with relevant government agencies
• Manage account reconciliation and address inquiries from banks
• Liaise with outside auditors, providing necessary account information and documents for the annual audit
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accepted accounting practices and procedures
• Oversee 401(k) plan and retirement plan tax filings
• Maintain accounting records for additional entities as required
• Provide recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Expertise in managing Accounting Functions
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
• Familiarity with Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Knowledge of Auditing practices
• Skilled in Billing Functions
• Experience in Budgeting and Forecasting
• Proficiency in Month End Close procedures
• Expertise in Financial Reporting
• Understanding of Cost Accounting
• Familiarity with Internal Control procedures
• Experience with CCH ProSystem fx - Tax Planning
• Knowledge of Compliance regulations
• Experience in Financial Statement Preparation
• Proficiency in Balance Sheet Reviews
• Familiarity with General Ledger management
• Understanding of Profit and Loss statements
• Skilled in Account Reconciliation
• Experience with Consolidated Financials
• Must hold a CPA Designation
