Robert Half Customer Service Representative in Grand Rapids, Michigan
Description We are in search of a Customer Service Representative to join our team in the machinery manufacturing industry, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As a Customer Service Representative, you will be tasked with managing customer inquiries, maintaining customer records, and processing applications. Your role will also involve monitoring customer accounts and taking appropriate action. By joining our team, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities:
• Handle incoming telephone calls and written business correspondences.
• Build solid customer relationships by providing accurate and friendly customer service in a timely manner.
• Actively cross-sell and refer customers to support business development and client referral goals.
• Demonstrate ability to interact effectively with both internal and external partners, as well as clients.
• Utilize Office and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems such as ACT!, Illustrator, Highrise, and Insightly.
• Maintain a supportive, positive attitude and detail-oriented demeanor in all tasks.
• Display strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Go the extra mile to solve complex customer inquiries through extensive research.
• Navigate multiple computer systems and applications efficiently. Requirements • Proven experience in a customer service role, preferably within the machinery manufacturing industry.
• Demonstrable proficiency in using office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively address customer needs.
• Strong problem-solving abilities to handle customer complaints and provide solutions.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team as well as independently when required.
• Familiarity with industry-specific machinery and equipment would be advantageous.
• High level of patience and emotional intelligence to manage challenging customer situations.
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of customer service principles and practices.
• High school diploma or equivalent; further training or qualifications in customer service will be a plus.
• Willingness to continually learn about new machinery and products.
