Description
We are inviting applications for the role of Tax Staff - Public in our team based in Great Neck, New York. This role will primarily focus on the execution of tax preparation tasks within our organization. Responsibilities:
• Execute tax preparation tasks efficiently and accurately
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis
• Perform accounting functions and auditing tasks as required
• Monitor and manage cash activity within the organization
• Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations
• Deliver excellent customer service when resolving tax-related inquiries
• Use Lacerte Tax Software for various tax operations
• Contribute to the management system and its continuous improvement
• Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth operations in the tax department.
Requirements • Minimum of three years of experience in public tax accounting or similar role
• Proficiency in tax software such as CCH ProSystem Fx, CCH Sales Tax, Gosystem, and Lacerte Tax Software
• Strong knowledge of management systems and Microsoft Excel
• Expertise in accounting functions including auditing and cash activity
• Proven track record in ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations
• Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate complex tax information clearly to clients
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation is preferred
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
