Robert Half Payroll Supervisor/Manager/Director in Green Bay, Wisconsin


Robert Half is currently working with a client looking to fill a Payroll Manager position. The Payroll Manager will help meet standards for the financial department necessary for growth and will work on tax-related tasks, such as W2 forms, preparing reports and updating policies. If you are a dynamic Payroll Manager with excellent communication, proven leadership, and are deadline driven, this may be the role for you.

Major responsibilities

  • Manage and train payroll clerks and assistants

  • Create reports and ensure accuracy of records

  • Engage with accounting and Human Resources (HR) teams

  • Handle payroll tax audits and collaborate with auditors

  • Oversee processing of payroll changes (e.g., new hires, terminations, raises) and system upgrades

  • Comply with relevant laws and internal policies

  • Organize payroll systems and timekeeping

  • Build systems to process payroll account transactions (e.g., salaries, benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes and third-party payments)

  • Settle issues and respond to all questions related to payroll

  • 5+ years of payroll experience

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or related field

  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills

  • CPP, CPM, or other related certifications is a plus

  • Ample knowledge of various payroll applications

  • 2+ years of proven leadership experience as a payroll manager or similar role

  • Great written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of multi-location payroll and taxes

  • Skilled in handling confidential business matters and information with discretion

  • Solid grasp on current payroll procedures and related laws

  • Excellent knowledge in compliance
