In this Assistant Controller role, you will utilize your problem solving skills by taking initiative to identity and resolve problems. One of the Assistant Controller's tasks include supervising the accounting staff and reporting updates to the Controller. How you will make an impact
Guarantee regular account reconciliation to completion
Recognize and grow process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency
Put together diversified policies, procedures, and technical accounting analyses
Pitch in to the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting
Backfill for Controller as necessary
Sustain implementation and secure adherence to accounting policies and procedures
Foster accountability and the meeting of deliverables
Contribute to ensure a competent, trained staff through development, goal setting, and regular assessment
Dissect and generate Ad Hoc financial reports
Other distinguished duties when required
Produce relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like key financial metrics, actual spend against budgets/outlook, and the monthly flash report
Direct the accounting team during the closing process to secure deadlines are met
Developed preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits
Requirements - Ability to multitask and communicate effectively with individuals of all backgrounds
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Strong technical background in public accounting (GAAP)
Demonstrated ability in exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
5+ years of general ledger accounting experience
- Crucial accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred
CPA certification desired
Financial Statement experience
Proficiency in Analyze Financial Statements
Practical knowledge of Educational Institutions
Consolidated Financial Statements experience
General familiarity with Monthly Financial Statements
Well-founded grasp of financial statement preparation
US GAAP experience required
Proven knowledge of financial statements consolidation
Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP Accounting
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Significant experience in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
