Robert Half Staff Accountant in GREENSBORO, North Carolina
Description Robert Half has partnered up with a dynamic, innovative Real Estate & Property firm to fill a Staff Accountant position on their team. Located in the Greensboro, North Carolina area, this long-term contract / temporary position is an engaging, multi-faceted opportunity where hard work is rewarded. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. The majority of time spent will be dedicated to producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. You will also be in charge of many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. In addition, you will take part in compliance, communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes.
Major responsibilities
Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management
Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested Requirements - Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Skilled with ERP systems
Analytical Skills experience desired
Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Excellent attention to detail
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
