Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Greenville, South Carolina
Description We are offering a contract to permanent opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in Greenville, South Carolina. The role is within the plastics manufacturing industry and involves managing, processing and resolving issues related to accounts payable. The specialist will work with a variety of accounting software systems and will be responsible for maintaining accuracy in financial records and customer accounts.
Responsibilities:
• Efficiently process customer credit applications
• Maintain and update supplier information in the ERP system
• Monitor and handle supplier invoices received through email and mail
• Match invoices with issued purchase orders and enter that information into the Accounts Payable system
• Ensure correct account coding of invoices, vouchers, and expense reports
• Resolve discrepancies between purchase orders and invoices
• Review the sales tax status on vendor invoices and provide appropriate certifications if necessary
• Prepare batch check runs, wire transfers, and Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions
• Maintain a schedule of monthly recurring payments
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of the company’s credit card billing
• Provide copies of requested documents to auditors and managers when necessary. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year experience in an Accounts Payable role.
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems.
• Knowledge of Account Coding.
• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services.
• Experience with Concur software.
• Understanding of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning.
• Ability to perform all accounting functions.
• Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP).
• Experience with Accrual Accounting.
• Auditing skills.
• Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) processes.
• A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
