Robert Half currently has a permanent opportunity for an experienced an Accountant to join their growing team in the Real Estate & Property industry. As a Staff Accountant, you will be in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. Throughout the monthly close, you will also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting. You will put your skills towards the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and look over schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very complex as it plays a part in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request
In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions
Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable
Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision
Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers
Requirements - Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
Wire transfer experience required
Bank reconciliations experience
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Skilled with ERP systems
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
