We're on the lookout for an experienced accounting professional to take on the permanent role of Senior Accountant at a growing Financial Services company in the GREENWICH, Connecticut area. As a Senior Accountant, your responsibilities will include financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. This position offers you great long-term potential and a strong compensation and benefits package. This Senior Accountant role is based in Greenwich, Connecticut with a company in the Financial Services field.

Key responsibilities

  • When working with business partners, ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls. Additionally, be able to provide support on special requests

  • Partake in various department-wide initiatives

  • Provide monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

  • Dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

  • Produce error-free monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP

  • Review financial information such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc. and present analysis in a clear manner

  • Contribute to coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

    Requirements

  • 3 to 6+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

  • Corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems experience a plus

  • Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"

  • Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

  • Engages effectively in self-directed time management and prioritization of workload

  • Sound written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

  • Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued

  • Deep understanding of waterfall project management

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Account analysis experience

  • BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
