Robert Half Accounting Assistant in Greenwood Village, Colorado
Description We are on the hunt for a diligent Staff Accountant to join our team in GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colorado. This role focuses on an array of financial tasks, including managing both accounts payable and receivable, performing bank reconciliations, and assisting with month-end close processes. You will be vital in maintaining our financial health and making sure we meet our financial goals.
Responsibilities:
• Perform daily functions related to Accounts Receivable (AR) and Intercompany Payable (ICP), including issuing payable checks, processing cash receipts, and managing collections of AR balances from agents.
• Apply daily cash receipts into the agency management system to maintain accurate records.
• Manage and issue vendor payables, ensuring all company payments are made in a timely manner.
• Communicate with agents and carriers to resolve billing discrepancies and answer any financial queries.
• Monitor banking activities to ensure all transactions are processed correctly and efficiently.
• Assist in reconciling surplus lines taxes, stamping fees, and related financial elements to maintain accurate financial records.
• Send out monthly statements to agents to keep them updated on their financial status.
• Assist in the preparation of month-end reporting and journal entries related to financials.
• Conduct other accounting tasks as needed, ensuring all financial operations run smoothly and efficiently. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management
• Experience with Bank Reconciliations
• Understanding of General Ledger maintenance
• Ability to prepare and record Journal Entries
• Familiarity with Month End Close procedures
• Knowledge of NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP
• Demonstrated capability to work effectively in a team
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Professional certification such as CPA is a plus
• Compliance with all company policies and procedures
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Proven problem-solving skills
• Capacity to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
