We are seeking a dedicated Leave of Absence Specialist to support our HR team in managing employee leaves, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, and providing exceptional service to our employees.

Job Summary:

The Leave of Absence Specialist will be responsible for administering leave of absence programs, including FMLA, ADA, personal, medical, and other leaves. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of leave laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with excellent communication skills and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and manage all types of leave of absence requests, including FMLA, ADA, personal, medical, and other statutory and non-statutory leaves.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local leave laws and regulations.

  • Provide guidance and support to employees and managers regarding leave policies, procedures, and eligibility requirements.

  • Coordinate and communicate with employees, managers, HR, and payroll to ensure seamless leave administration.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date leave records in HR systems.

  • Monitor leave cases to ensure timely processing and return-to-work plans.

  • Collaborate with external vendors, if applicable, to manage leave administration services.

  • Generate and analyze reports related to leave metrics and trends.

  • Educate and train managers and employees on leave policies and procedures.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of leave-related policies and procedures.

  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of discretion.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in leave of absence administration or related HR role.

  • Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and other leave-related laws and regulations.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex leave cases.

  • Knowledge of multi-state leave laws.
