Description
We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Data Engineer in Greer, South Carolina. In this role, you will be focusing on the design and management of data architectures tailored for manufacturing processes. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, manage system integrations, develop data pipelines, and perform data analysis.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and design efficient data architectures for manufacturing processes
• Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and structures that support business needs and align with industry best practices
• Optimize strategies for data storage and retrieval considering the volume and velocity of manufacturing data
• Manage system integrations between Manufacturing, OT, and Enterprise IT environments
• Design, implement, and optimize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for manufacturing data
• Ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of data pipelines
• Integrate manufacturing data from various systems, ensuring data consistency, accuracy, and reliability
• Apply expertise in manufacturing data to analyze and interpret key process indicators
• Implement and enforce data quality standards and data governance best practices specific to manufacturing data
• Manage and optimize database systems, ensuring data availability and performance
• Use data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI to facilitate analysis and interpretation of manufacturing data.
Requirements
• 5 or more years of experience in data engineering
• Proficient in Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement data pipelines
• Proficient in MySQL database management
• Experience with Oracle Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large data sets
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve data issues
• Knowledge of data architecture and data warehousing principles
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional groups
• Experience with data visualization tools is a plus.
