Description
Robert Half is looking to hire an Accounting Clerk. In this position, you will be responsible for playing an essential role in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R), general data entry, and aligning invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers. This dynamic team environment offers you a great workspace/office, challenging responsibilities, and a hands-on experience that will lead to career advancement. This is a short-term contract to full time employment opportunity based in the Gretna, Louisiana area.
What you get to do every single day
Overall accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects
Arrange documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes
Publish financial information to journals and ledgers
Patch up discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required
Work with Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, and help with collection of past due balance
Work with Accounts Payable: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching & filing
Put together statements and reports that require utilization of an assortment of sources
Requirements
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data
Deep understanding of Purchase Orders
Comprehensive knowledge of Operations support
QuickBooks Enterprise experience
Expertise in Microsoft Excel
Customer Portal experience
AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
Spreadsheet and ERP system experience recommended
