Robert Half Staff Accountant in Grovetown, Georgia

Located in the Grovetown, Georgia area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. You will succeed in this position if you have the ability to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. To succeed in this role, you will need to be comfortable participating in compliance, interacting with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes. This position is ideal for someone with a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.

Key responsibilities

  • Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request

  • Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable

  • Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation

  • Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives

  • Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

  • Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks

  • Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management

  • In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

  • Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

  • Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease

  • Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

  • Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries

  • Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision Requirements - BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

  • High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills

  • Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines

  • Competent with spreadsheets and databases

  • Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

  • Deep understanding of Bank Account Reconciliation

  • Account reconciliation experience required

  • Journal entries experience desired

  • Experience with ERP systems

  • Recent and relevant accounting experience

  • Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills

  • Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
