Key responsibilities
Support most aspects of accounting management including A/R, A/P, Cost Accounting & Inventory Accounting.
Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with best practices.
Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and management information reports which include charts, graphs and commentary for three related companies based in the corporate office.
Prepare/reconcile warehouse inventories to the G/L across several 3rd Party Logistic providers.
Prepare/analyze inventory costs and report on product/customer profitability
Prepare/manage journal entries and reconcile/analyze accounts for the monthly & year-end closing.
Prepare monthly bank collateral reports required by credit facilities.
Prepare for the annual financial & bank audits and assist auditors conducting fieldwork.
Review the company’s accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances.
Be involved in system automations across the functions and participate in new system implementations as it relates to recording/reporting financial data
Provide guidance/oversight to the accounting team (payable/receivable functions)
Oversight of the treasury function and authorization/release of wires/ach payments
Review/approval of supplier/expense payables workflow
Become expert in Microsoft Navision computer system and use it to facilitate processes and maintain records.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
Accurate knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
5+ years of general ledger accounting experience
Ability to multitask and attention to detail are critical
Strong technical background in public accounting (GAAP)
Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired
Comprehensive knowledge of Navision
Foundational knowledge in inventory controls
Inventory Reconciliation experience
Cost accounting experience required
Inventory analysis experience
