Robert Half Controller in Hanover, Maryland
Description We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Controller to join our team in Hanover, Maryland. This role involves overseeing department standards, guidelines, and objectives, auditing various departments, evaluating statistical reports, and managing financial reports and reconciliations. The chosen candidate will be expected to work closely with various departments to resolve any system problems and ensure accurate tracking of information.
Responsibilities:
• Establish department standards, guidelines, and objectives to ensure proper planning and efficient operation of assigned areas
• Audit various departments including cages, count rooms, slots, table games, poker, hotels, and more as required
• Evaluate statistical reports and other business and gaming reports
• Work closely with IT, Cage, Credit, and Count Room departments to resolve any system problems related to daily revenue audit and gaming systems
• Ensure accurate tracking of information and timely filing related to all regulatory filings including gaming taxes and other regulatory fees
• Review and manage payment of all gaming taxes and other regulatory fees
• Analyze daily casino cash flow, forecast sources and uses of casino cash, and initiate casino cash management activities
• Prepare and review financial reports and reconciliations to ensure reasonableness and completeness
• Review and interpret unusual transactions, adjustments, or unexpected financial results to determine the appropriate accounting treatment or necessary follow-up
• Hire, train, coach, and direct staff
• Carry out other duties as assigned.
Skills:
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, and ERP Solutions
• Strong understanding of Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Experience in Auditing and Budget Processes. Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Strong analytical and strategic planning abilities
• Proven ability to manage and lead a team
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
