Description
We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Financial Analyst II in the Health Pharm/Biotech industry, based in Hanover, Maryland. As a Financial Analyst II, you will be tasked with the collection and analysis of financial data, as well as the creation of forecasts to aid in investment decisions. Additionally, your role will entail the communication of financial information to clients, and the interpretation of data impacting investment strategies.
Responsibilities:
Collect, compile, prepare, and analyze data from multiple systems for journal entries and financial transactions.
Adapt quickly to evolving requirements and business needs, implementing solutions as necessary.
Identify process improvements to strengthen controls, improve productivity, and reduce costs.
Perform data cleaning, aggregation, and transformation for analysis.
Analyze data for trends, correlations, and insights, translating findings into actionable solutions.
Design, develop, and maintain databases for financial data analysis.
Build predictive models and support big data projects.
Organize, interpret, and visually present data to stakeholders.
Use quantitative analysis and data modeling techniques to support business decisions and outcomes.
Communicate results clearly to stakeholders, tailoring insights to audience needs.
Develop and document internal controls while performing SOX testing and evaluations.
Collaborate across departments to drive sustainable processes and system improvements.
Requirements
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting; MBA with accounting focus a plus.
Public accounting or revenue/technical accounting experience preferred.
3+ years of experience in contract management or project accounting preferred.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, including ASC 606 and US GAAP.
Proficient in Order-to-Cash processes and revenue accounting systems.
Demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Experience working independently and collaboratively in a large, matrixed organization.
Strong analytical skills and ability to produce data-driven insights and reports.
Experience with data extraction, transformation, and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Alteryx, Power BI, Power Query).
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, MS Access, and other MS Office tools (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
Knowledge of PeopleSoft or Oracle Fusion preferred.
Motivated, proactive, and adaptable to additional responsibilities as needed.
