Robert Half Finance & Accounting is searching for a talented Controller on behalf of a reputable company in the Harahan area.
Interested candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting in addition to 3-5 years as a Controller or similar leadership role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Complete month-end closing and prepare financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
Manage the accurate and timely handling of transactions and accounting data, ensuring all financial activities comply with legal and regulatory standards.
Reviews financial statements and operating reports with relevant parties, conducting gap analyses and offering recommendations to enhance performance.
Manage compliance with payroll processes, including regulations from DOL, IRS, 401(k), and healthcare requirements.
Direct the implementation and management of the ERP system - experience with ComputerEase is preferred.
Collaborate with leadership to establish and implement goals, policies, financial strategies, linked metrics, and procedures, supporting financial and operational management across budgeting and accounting functions.
Establish robust financial management controls and develop procedures aimed at continuously enhancing internal control systems.
Prepare and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly reports on key financial and operational metrics to track trends.
Evaluate organizational performance in relation to budgets alongside functional leaders and management team.
Develop and refine strategies to improve cash flow and strengthen working capital positions.
Oversee ongoing banking and bonding requirements.
Support the preparation of materials for external audits, GAAP financial reporting, and all tax compliance and reporting activities.
Ensure all employees adopt our safety culture and adhere to safety initiatives.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; MBA and CPA preferred.
3-5 years in a Controller position or comparable leadership role.
Proficient in cost accounting, including standard costing processes and percentage of completion revenue - required.
Effective in overseeing inventory processes and inventory management.
Exhibit strong leadership and strategic thinking, fostering teamwork through effective verbal and written communication to achieve organization goals.
Actively participates in meetings, demonstrating innovation and adaptability to change while effectively managing multiple tasks with strong organizational skills.
Detail-oriented with a strong dedication to completing tasks effectively.
Inspire confidence in themselves and others; motivating team members to excel.
Influence actions and opinion of others, welcome feedback, and recognize contributions from others.

Willingness to travel occasionally, including overnight trips as necessary.
